I can ell you from first hand exp, That the whole rhd thing is cool at first then after a while becomes a pain more than anything as it draws way to much attention and almost caused an accident with an old lady who froze behind the wheel because she freaked out also it is hard to pass with out
a trust worthy passenger. Here is a pic of my rhd evo 1. I live in il so no emissions and the whole title thing is fairly easy.

Hmm just found this thread I have a Soarer in Wa state, infact I just posted another one for sale on the forums. I don't see what the big deal is with the emissions, my Soarer w/ intake+catback blew fine. YES it can be done BUT you can also easily screw yourself hard core. Mine didn't go through any special loop holes or gray market crap. The title specifically lists it as a Toyota Soarer and so does my insurance. The whole RHD thing does get a ton of looks though, my favorite come from the cops, they stare (and provided you aren't doing some stupid ****) they can't do anything about it. No laws against RHD cars.

Pretty strict..

"CA recently stiffened its auto emissions standards again -- including imposing limits on CO2 emissions. In 2002, CA became the first state to regulate "global warming potential" of vehicles, requiring auto makers to cut emissions of CO2, CH4, nitrous oxide (N2O), and several other pollutants by at least 30% by 2009. As of this writing (early 2006), WA and OR have both signed on to the CA standards, as have several other states in the NE US."

and

"KIRKLAND – May 6, 2005 – Gov. Christine Gregoire today signed legislation designed to produce cleaner air and reduce gasoline use by requiring that future new cars and light trucks sold in Washington state meet strict auto exhaust emission standards. -- The new law adopts the state of California’s motor vehicle emission standards. California's current low emission vehicle standards require that new cars sold there reduce nitrogen oxides and hydrocarbons beyond federal standards"

Oh prove its not stolen and everything. Yea I know anything at all especially cars from japan have to be checked if it was shipped legitimitally. If you have a car that was stolen in another country they take it. haha happened to a friend of mine with a AE86 Levin. Ca is always the hardest tho. Of course you can have registration non op or whatever it is. But for it to be in driving condition there is alot to do
