Default Supra engine

I have a quick question......the dealership my brother works at has a body shop and they got in, today, a 98 Supra TT that was totalled. I went to check it out and the car is a ****in mess. The engine is still in good shape, the car was rear ended. Do you think this motor would work with my 98 SC300? Both of the cars have an auto trans. Secondly, could the SC300 trans handle that sorta power, or do I need a Supra auto trans?
My car is still under factory warranty but I could get the engine for dirt cheap and I would not mind storing it until my warranty was up.

thoughts?.....comments?

Johnny, jump on it if it's reasonable cash. It'll all bolt in, and there's nothing better than having the whole car as a donor. If you pass, let me know and i'm there. The SC and Supra trans are basically the same, different torque converter bolt pattern, etc. Talk to 'philauldridge' ,he has a manual on the swap, but it's all very do-able.

Go for it, a cheap donor is ALWAYS a good deal...
having the whole car makes it easy... check out the differential too; see if it got screwed up... it'd be sweet to have that for a whole drivetrain swap...

and yes Phil Auldridge on this site sells a badass manual that tells you everything and i mean EVERYTHING about the swap... from the bolt patterns, bolt thread sizes that he used to which wires to splice into what..

yes, my opinion is get the engine (or the whole car, whatever), and drop it in. God knows i would if i wasnt a broke *** high school student. (even having a wrecked supra with no engine would be pretty cool :P)

How much would just the engine run you?

Did you pick up that car? If not, I'm interested. I need the block and ALL sorts of other pieces from it!
