I heard about this trick before, and decided that I'd do it. Then someone suggested that I should get used to using the 'S' mode. When I did that, the difference in acceleration was remarkable. Therefore I shan't tweak that tranny thingy; I'll just use ECT and 'S' mode when I want quick acceleration and 'D' mode for a smooth change during normal driving, thus having the best of both worlds.
