I remember seeing a post about this a few weeks ago. It did look pretty damn cool actually. It was the soarer emblem on the headrest. Was that you or someone else who posted that?

nah, I just got the idea when I was surfing the net. I was at www.suprastore.com and they have it listed there for $147 and a five day turn around. I wonder if we could get some sorta group buy going. I would be in!

$147 to embroider on two headrests, and you have to send in your own? HAH! I'll do 'em for $90/pair + shipping. Plus, its our slow season right now, so we should be able to turn them around in a day or so.

Black RX-7.
You do this kinda work? I thought it would be a complicated process doing embroidery in leather, guess I was wrong.

Yes, I do embroidery. The only thing about sewing in leather is the risk of perforation, which can easily be avoided with careful digitizing, and correct tension.

WEll, if you could do it for $90, I would be down with that. Now I need to come up with some ideas about what I want. Think you could do a Lexus logo in both the headrests???

Just the L in a circle? No problem. More complicated designs (the word Lexus, SC 400, Soarer Lion, etc) will require larger orders to cover the artwork labor.

ok, now that we got that settled, what should I do about color? I have tan interior with the pearl white exterior. Any suggestions, since you are in the business?

I would suggest tone on tone...tan, or a shade darker than the leather...unless you like loud and tacky, then do red or royal or black? Basically, its up to you....whatever you think will look good. I can make it all sew up pretty...with the exception of metallic threads....they sew like hell on anything....espescially leather.

I'll have to agree with the darker tan. Because pearl thread would only get dirty really quick.

At the current point in time, 2 days, probably more like one....unless of course the machine eats one, then I'll have to get a replacement from Lexus.

Yes, or even a little lighter. I won't be able to match the colors *exactly* anyways.
