Default SC Aftermarket steering wheel PIC THREAD

hello. i was debating on wheather i should put an aftermarket steering wheel on my sc with tan interior. i have a nardi classic and a momo race laying around. i just want to see how it looks on our sc's.

for those who post pics, please state the steering wheel brand, hub brand(what car was it for), and and problems encountered.

i know putting an aftermarket wheel can cause probs such as the horn, airbag, and cruise control loss....any ways to bypass these problems???????

which hub works the best...nrg? momo? bell?

thanks in advanced guys!!!!!!

I have a 01 GS steering wheel installed.
If you are not going to race, i think it's a much better alternative than the ones you listed.

With an aftermarket wheel YOU WILL lose your horn button. The lexus sc hub is a strange thing.

Nardi Torino wheel, I don't know about the hub, it came with the car. No CC but mine has a R154 in it anyways and my horn still works

I believe some wheels come with little CC switches that you can use and as for the airbag? if the wheel doesn't come with one then your SOL.

Do you have a picture of it and was it a direct swap? I was sitting my friends gs and was wondering if it'd swap over and then I saw this thread.

Default Nardi

Mine had a Nardi in it when I bought it. I like it but the hub is too long to reach the turn signals. I'm looking for the horn wire in the harness to get that going. I'm working on a mod for getting back the cruise control. I don't race ;-)

eggman, whats the current nardi your running, can u link me to where i can pick it up, thats almost exactly what i want, if i wrapped the cinter w/ a tan leather that could almost pass for stock.

Do you have horn / cc hookd up?

RCThrine, its the nardi gara3. the gara3 and gara4 come in versions with leather centers (but only black i think). and i think only nardi of japan has these wheels. its not on nardi italy's site. just on the japanese distributor's site.

sc400 2nv, i used the cheaper splash hub. no signaling problems, airbag light came on (had to remove the bulb), and i figured out how to get the horn working. i should probably do a write up on the horn thingy. seems like supra/sc owners cant figure this thing out.

go ahead and try your momo hub from the 86. i'm pretty sure the spline and signal cancellation mechanism is the same on all toyotas. i think its just the horn that's different...

Nardi Steering Wheel, Splash short boss hub, and a Works Bell Quick release. Install was quick and painless, bolt on yes. Eliminating horn and cruise control doesn't bother me, but if it bothers you then don't do it.
