everything is in great running condition except for no cup holder, rear window regulator doesn't work..fully stock loaded with body kit, brand new paint window visors.
I am thinking about trading it for this sc300 with 175XXXmiles, 1993 plus his gadgets and gizmos..on top of that he is giving me $1200 and I get to keep my 20" rims.
the problem with his car is alignment, antennae dont work, about $300 of body damage, interior is not at its best of shape(faded wood panels, dirty seats, loose driver panel, etc), ac is not cold, timing belt might need to be changed. I am afraid there might be more things but he seems like a nice guy. Other than that everything looks and sounds good.
Alignment = $100, antenna = $40 for an MDX one, $300 body damage, $800 reupholstered interior parts, AC freon regen $100, timing belt = $1000, possible 100k service = $500.
If you do it right, the trade in will be a relatively good deal.
You will be getting an older car(by 1 year), Higher miles(35,000), needs body work and new interior, broken A/C and $1200. I say don't do it but think about and let us know what you do.
So you are pretty much paying about $4,800 for the SC. You will spend over $1,200 for the problems that you mentioned. I'd say ask for $2,000 or just sell your car and get a nicer SC.
From what you've said you'll need to put work into that car, I dont think it's a good trade off with an extra 1200. As far as I can tell, SCs are really expensive to maintain and fix. And let's face the facts, you're going to trade for a car that you'll need to fix, spend more time and money, is that what you really want? Okay... if so do it.
