Default New wheels Needed

What you guys think about wheels you can get on cheap like 150 from discount tires pep boys and etc. I have 1995 Sc300 with stock wheels and I wont to upgrade but I think that 16" wheels will give me better handling but seems that many of you guys want to gow with big wheels 19. If I went with 17" size wheels will the handling be better or worst. What tires you gus recomend I usaly buy michaelin tires for my other cars I some nice ones for 197 at costco.

If I were you...18's are my favorite. They give a great look while vastly improving handling. I have had 18's and 19's on my SC's.

Just make sure you get the right offset so you don't rub (if you lower it that is)

18s are the best size for aesthetics and performance(although I have 19s)
Be sure you have the right offset set so you dont have sunken battleships(dont fear the fender roller)

Overall quality, alloys and metals used, aggressive offsets and multi-piece wheels.

amen to that.

17s are hardly an upgrade from the stock wheels in terms of looks. However, you can go wider with the wheel and tires to grip the road much better.

18s are the best balance out there. They look fantastic and offer a much thinner sidewall a -if you go wide- more rubber on the road.

19s are perhaps more aesthetically pleasing, but it is very difficult to keep the weight at the wheels down at this size. You will lose fuel economy as well as acceleration and braking performance. This is true with any heavy wheel/tire combo. In addition, a heavier wheel/tire will age your suspension faster.

That being said, I went with 19s. I got a great deal, and they look fantastic. There are days where I miss the buttery smoothness of the ride quality with 55 series tires, but one sharp turn at speed makes me forget that in a heartbeat.

persnally i think 17s are the best for performaces stance. Not too radical from stock, but good for an enthusiast who takes his car to the track every once in a while. Subtle in terms of looks, but nothing fancy.

18s are the perfect balance between looks and performance. A little more expensive, of course, and probably not as performance oriented, but i think 18s are the perfect setup for an SC. I just put my 18s on the other day and already a ton of people told me how nice the car looks.

19s and up are for those with just looks in mind. Thin sidewalls and huge lips make heads spin (with an inch or 2 lowering). Not much performance here.

my vote would be for 18s, but 17s arnt too bad either. whatever the wallet can dish out for you....

If you like to drive hard go with 17's or 18's max. If it's a cruiser go with 19's (you know you want to )
