Default Check Engine Light? Help please

Hey guys, just 20 mins ago while I was driving my brother to his work, my car threw a CEL. I don't even know where to begin. How would I diagnose this? Any guidance as to how to approach this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again

Default CEL light

Go to an AutoZone or similar parts store and have them read the code for you. Autozone does it for free. Then search whatever codes they read.

Default How to read codes

Switch ign
Open your hood
locate the "diagnosis" box (intake manifold area)
Open the box
Get a wire
Jump TE1 to E1
Go inside the car
read the code (kinda like morse code)

i.e. 21 is
blink.blink....blink.........................(repeat)
if there are 2 codes or more, lower code is displayed first

Alright, I had time to do it today. I got b.b.b.b.b.b.b...b...... repeat. Would that mean 71 correct?

I did a search and found this thread
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...c300+cel+codes

It says that 71 is just EGR. If thats the case, I feel at ease. I was worried it could of been something worse. At the same time, I notice in the list it has codes for turbochargers? Is that from a Soarer? Or would the codes still be the same? Thanks again, I'm going to go double check it to verify I'm only flashing 1 code, 71.

Yeah, I wonder what the fix actually is as well. If the fix is something that will allow me to utilize block off plates and somehow trick the sensor that its in proper working order, I'd like to do this. Of course if the problem has something to do with this section of the egr system.
