Default Ghetto.....Hell Yeah!

1. Old scratched up CD hanging from your rear view mirror.

2. Tattered calico cat fur seat covers.

3. Bumper bouncin' bass.

4. WHITE cell phone antenna on the c-pillar glass.....no cell phone!

5. Oak Tree freshener hanging from the turn signal stalk (Thx IKON)

These make your car instantly ghetto. Not to mention....

6. Window tint with more bubbles than a Calgon bath.

7. Leather seats with more cracks in it than a Ginger Snap.

8. Ghetto gold license plate frame.

9. Final fantasy VII rear wing.

10. ANY Shogun crap!!

Talking What a hoot!

That word ghetto just makes me laugh. I was confused the first time I heard it used in a sentence...I was not quite sure what it meant.

"Damn that's ghetto!"...I thought it meant "Damn that's phat!" or in my terms "Damn that's cool!".

I was dating a girl who was way too young for me to communicate with...lol and that's where I learned this new term. It all went with the "hip hop" stuff.

So can ghetto mean good? Kinda like "aloha" can mean "hello" or "goodbye"?

Ps. Girl is gone. I refused to get a hip-hop to English dictionary.

Ghetto = jacked up, country, wild, without proper training, not quite right, or SLAW(that's another term for messed up or sloppy as cole-slaw is in a container )

A LITTLE STREET??

Forget the spoon, I was born with a silver TOOTH in my mouth man!

Hey, congrats on the seats. I'm getting the mod bug again so I'm about to get Borla exhaust, clear corners, and add Alpine navigation and DVD.

Thumbs up

1SICKLEX : Well put!!!!!
Ive always been into cars and know what hard work it is to build them. From my 59 Impala (Lowrider) to an 850csi and a LOT of cars in between that are of diff. styles.
I respect anyone that goes out and builds what 'they' like.
I still am amazed at how people ask "What type of wheels, stereo etc. should i put on MY car" ....why not hand over some cash and tell someone to buy what they think you should have.
I personally HATE seeing the same bodykits ,wheels, stereos etc. on the same cars time after time.
I know this thread is based on everyones opinions but also realize what it takes to do some of this stuff.

Default Importoys....you have good taste

Importoys..(marcus..right?)

Hey,

I always applauded your taste in cars.

My two favorite cars in the 90s are the LexusSC400 and BMW 840/850. (those were the hip-hop status cars of the 90s as well....not that I like them because of that distinction...the NEW hip-hop gotta have cars (besides Bentleys)...are the new SC430 and the new mercedes CL..to replce the SC4 and 8 series)..

I still have plans to go foward w/modifying my SC4 even more and also getting my hands on an 8 series and dropping a 2001 M5 engine in it. STILL in the plans.

Hey did you ever get that carbon fiber hood for your SC?

Personally...GHETTO to me is any car that has aftermarket rims period. Mine included. Any iterms EXTERNALLY or INTERNALLY on the car to draw more attention to itself than normal is GHETTO.
Period.

I think we can all attest to that. Upon that definition, my car can be seen as ghetto too. Big shiney 18 inch rims, custom leather, tricked out sound system, dvd. That's ghetto.

All we are discussing here is VARIED levels of ghetto, from extreme to slight. But it all IS.

I too love the bmw 840/50, and sc400, my 2 fav oldschool lux cars, but I have to ask, why the HELL would you drop an M5 engine into a 850? Why not keep the 850 12 cylinder engine? I realize its not as fast, but the m5 is one of the dopest cars on earth, why take from it? And while I LOVE the 850, I would never drive an 850 over a m5. Plus, I have never driven an 850, but Id be willing to bet that its fast as HELL (it has 12 cylinders how could it not be?), plus Id just keep the engine just for the pure rareness of having a 12 cylinder engine.....

On a side note - Think how dope it would be having those 8 series windows on our sc's :P

Default GOLD EMBLEMS

I have gold emblems and i think it they are very classy and would never trade them in for silver. That nasty. But you have to understand that my car is also gold and silver would look ghetto on it. But Gold also doesnt look good on many colors. But on my gold car gold emblems are tight. BTW: I had my tail lights updated to the 97+ model and i moved the SC400 emblem to the top right corner. I just havnt taken a pic of it. Oh YA my car is really a SC300 but I like the 400 to fool people. LoL
