drivers side will not unlock
Hey guys,
just today I could not unlock the drivers' side door on my 1992 SC400 either with the key or from the inside. It feels like there is something in the way or bent. I think it's probably a problem with the actuator, but I need to unlock it to open the door to replace it.
Any suggestions? Help.

Hopefully won't be too difficult to unlock and open it once I can access the insides.
If I need it, how much for the actuator?
if it feels like the door handle on the outside swings with no resistance, your lever has broken.
it did that on my car. i had to cut a huge hole in my mint grey door panel to get the door opened. i eventually have to purchase a new door lock mechanism box.

Yesterday I was able to get the door open after breaking the inside door panel. Removed the actuator and it had a broken spring. It seemed to be involved in returning the mechanism after the door handle if pulled. Replaced the spring and it works like new again.
i'm kinda having the same problem with my sc, except that only the driver side cannot unlock from the outside. it can lock with the key, and lock/unlock from the inside switch.
is it also the lock actuator that's causing it?

was having the same problem with my SC just a few days ago was able to access the cables connecting the latch and the lcoking mechanism by removing the window trim and forcing the door panel open a little from the top...broke some clips in the process but nothing major...and pulled on/played with that till it unlocked then i opened up the door, and disconnected the lock cable from the latch (blue tipped if i remember correctly...the other is yellow?) and unplugged the harness that powers the locks so they'll never lock again...but my car doesn't have door handles so her being locked isnt exactly a big deal to me...
the culprit was that somehow the cable was sitting incorrectly and the latch wasnt able to pull on the threaded cable properly...dunno if you have the same problem but thats how i was able to fix mine...
