Default Console removal

I got some of the parts out but the part where the shifter base is, the plastic wont come out because of the shift ****. How do you take the shift **** out?

put the car in neutral and theres a little plastic piece on the bottom of the shift ****, just push it down and there will be two phillps head screws..

Its really easy to do... I just replaced my climate control and it took me maybe 30 minutes!!

I chipped the plastic collar on the shift **** while sliding it down.

I was wondering myself how to slide that plastic piece down without breaking any little clips on the backside??

no clips, if you use a flat head screw driver, be gentle.
