My sc400 is currently going through a lot of modifications. The car is currently green, i have an origin kit sitting in my room, megan coilovers, work s1 in gold on the way and other things. My question is do you guys think it would look okay if i just repaint the car and match the kit to the same factory green for less cash and that can go towards a 1jz swap, or spend the $$ and get a nice new colored paint job probably pearl white, red or black. Thanks for your input.
so stay with the factory color but you guys both voted black?? either or right now maybe i'll change the color later once the swap and interior are complete but for now it's complete 4000 paint job or 2000 paint and swap.
mmmm tuff man, very tuff. It all depends on how much you like the color of your car. you wouldnt want to paint the body kit green to match, then in the future wished you would have just painted it the color you really wanted, and waited on the 1jz. I have found the best decisions are the ones made with patience in mind. If you really do kind of dig the green, then go for the green +1jz, if you really dig another color, but are tempted by the 1jz, dont be tempted! get the color you really want. good luck man, and thats quite a collection of parts!
I agree with Lady Soarer...if your motor doesn't run right...what's the point of making it look all nice!! but since you already ordered the wheels and have the kit...you might as well slap that all on.
You'd be surprise how nice green could look...maybe a nice Dark Metallic Pine Green...the dark green with metallic flakes in it looks real nice...esp, with that kit and those wheels, how could you go wrong?...
Going black would be okay, but Black is THE most difficult base color to take care of...you might as well stay close to the stock color as possible and have the whole car blend well.
cause eventually you will get door dings, and dents. that is especially if you plan to track your car. Just make sure at the end, you're the one who is satisfied with it.
stock color is always better unless you do it right, i wouldnt want green, but id rather have a car with a good paint job all around inside and out(engine bay and stuff) than just a crappy black with green parts all inside, so i suggest you save up and do them at the same time, so you can have the motor out and stuff and pay for a real good paint job if you want to change the color
