i finally finished replacing the leaking heater core in my 97sc300. took me about 13 hours from start to finish. was not as bad as i thought i will be. here are some photos for anyone intrested. anyone ever doing this do not remove the steering wheel just drop the whole column down, much more easier. and when you get your heater core from lexus about $320 it does not come with the inlet and outlet tubes you have to reuse the old ones and make sure to use new o-rings.

That's a serious amount of work - way to go! I wonder how much a Lexus dealership would charge for the job...

I don't think the SCs came with in cabin air filters. I found mine full of dirt when I was doing my car computer install. So I just decided to clean it and go on with life.

Excellent work and contribution to the clublexus community. I know many DIY'ers (like myself) will find this VERY helpful if we have to do this in the future.
