Just spent 1k on mine. Paint shop filled all the dings, chips, prepped, and painted. I did the wet sanding and buffing.

Here are a couple of threads with pics.

Orange county. My first kit was painted for a mere $600. But paint was "OK." I know better now.

if you remove your bumper yourself, and have them paint it...it will be a lot cheaper than that. Its not that hard to remove and install the front bumper if you have an hr er 2.

Default .

A buddy of mine has done body work all his life. He said; sure there is skill in painting. But all things being equal, If you spray the same quality work with two diffrent paints the results will be painfully obvious in a year or two.

If you go with good paint like Dupont base coat you'll pay several hundred $$ per quart. Depending on color you want. Same with the clear. And stay away from the base/clear in one shot. Good supplies will not fade or peel for several years if properly cared for and properly prepped before painting. Where as cheap clear and base will look crappy no matter how well you care for it. Also the quality in clear coat material is huge. Go with several coats of each. I like to get about 3 coats of clear. Sometimes you'll pay for 3 and get two. You'll never know the diffrence unless you sit and watch 'em spray it. But at least buy good paint & clear if you want it to last. You'll drop $1200+ easy just in materials at the paint shop.

But why bother? Someone willjust hit you car with a shopping cart or back into you in the parking lot after you do all that work.

SC karma.

I know, I just wanted a full quote to see what it would be. I am probably just going to go with the AC group buy anyways!
