i am recently experiencing this and thought it was due to my install of a SAFC... However during the nights (when its cool) the car doesnt stall. However during the day when the sun is out and the motor is very toasty, after a highway drive or stop and go and I pull up to a light, BAM!, it stalls. I will try cleaning it first, drying it out and then getting on it to see. I really hope its this.

Not saying this is your problem but mine did the same thing and it was the fuel pump ecu. There is a capacitor in it which probably has some charge on it which is why it turns on for a few seconds then when the capacitor discharges the car dies.

When this happens to me which is maybe once a month. I just unplug the vacuum lines on the intake manifold. And they are just clogged up. And it idles fine. This happens after I'm really driving the car which isn't to often. But this is how my problem is temperally solved.
Does anyone know exactly what my problem is though?

Bump this up! going through a similar problem with my 92 5spd.

i start her up and it sounds like its misfiring. it boggles at idle and dies. after countless searches on this forum i tried a few of them...

so far this is what ive done: cleaned IAC, cleaned contacts on cap n rotor, changed spark plugs to NGK Iridium, cleaned throttle body, and cleaned all electrical plugs.

On my TO DO LIST:
-swap out MAF sensor
-compression test
-check TPS
-check Water Temp Sensor/ Sending Unit
-check Fuel filter

may be ordering some new wires seeing how they are almost 2 decades old!

besides what ive listed does anyone have other suggestions?
