Talking Supra TT Brakes

I know this has been done but I can't find complet info for what I want...

I have 17" Wheels from a GS400 Sport on my 93 SC400. I want to add the Supra TT brakes...what do I need?

Here is what I think but am not sure...
Do I need to do just fron or can I do front and rear?

I know I need spacers(recomondations and where?)
front calipers and rotors? Entire hub? Just the calipers?

Same question for rear.

I want to know exactly I need to get to convert my brakes...

All the upgrades for spped are great...but you have to do the brakes first!

You need new wheels. There is NO WAY to fit the GS400 wheels on the TT calipers without ruining the offset by adding spacers. The spacers would have to be huge!!!

I have a SC300 with the GS wheels and the SupraTT front brakes.
Get 15mm spacers made by H&R Springs. I got mine from optauto.com for about $200 for all four. Get the rears so the car will track properly. New studs are included in the kit.
That's all you need. Bolt it on.
If you like or think you need big stopping power then you should definatley go for it. The SC is a very heavy car and these TT brakes have raised my driving confidence tremendously.

I'm still trying to find out about the rear. Anyone have this info?

Default Brakes

I still need to know...

When you upgrade to Supra TT Brakes...do you just replace the caliper and use stock SC rotor? Do you replace caliper and rotor?

Do you use stock Supra TT Pads?

Thanks

Replace the caliper and rotor. The TT caliper will not fit with the Stock SC rotor. The TT rotor is much larger.

I used the stock TT brake pads. I believe they're a high quality semi metalic. A little dusty though. Get the Hawk HP Plus or Blue if you're doing alot of track time.

That's pretty slick!
Are the Supra calipers a fixed,4 piston setup,or do they use sliders like the stock SC ones?

The TT calipers are a fixed four piston. An enormous difference over stock. I am very pleased with the outcome.

Arrow Brakes

Should cost you about $1K or alittle less if you shop around.

Check with Steve Ganz @ Carson Toyota. He can do better than $1000 for sure...

Jeff Watson @ Jay Marks Toyota... If memory serves, around $750 for everything.

Don't forget, if you need wheel spacers, they're about $200 for all four.

Default Even less

Try $300 for calipers and rotors from my local junk yard! Supra Tt just brought in, hit in rear!
Calipers, rotors and pads all mint!

plus $200 for spacers....

Great Idea!

BimmerLexus, you know how much they were selling the drivetrain(well engine and transmission) for in that supra tt you bought the brakes out of? If you can find out, please let me know, thanks Adam

Heres a link to the thread about SupraTT brakes through Steve at Carson Toyota. I just had them installed on my GS...Steve gives exceptional prices to CL members and is VERY reliable...
-SupraTT front calipers
-Cross-drilled CAD plated front rotors(or stock SupraTT rotors if you prefer to spend less $$$)
-SS brake lines
-Stock SupraTT front pads(he also has other pads if you have a preference)

In case anyone is concerned, the CAD plating literally comes off after 20 miles of city driving.....
