jibbby - Im in FL no scraping at all i removed that stuff along time ago as you mention when i went to remove everything to install my VIS vertex which didnt fit properly... They are LS400 brakes i painted them black with high heat black then added chrome decals and cleared over them with about 10 coats, so there locked in.
TurboTeg - I dont think the upper will be a problem now that i have the tool i already took them out just couldnt pop the *****
SC_coupe - I dont have any problems rubbing i did in the rear but banged in the fender lip back when i got the wheels and had a load in the trunk, so they can go all the way up and not rub. They are 20x9.5 rear with nitto 555's 255/35/20 and 20x8.5 front with 235/35/20. I would say i can safely fit upto 275/35 rear and 245/35 front. Yes i said 275/35 rear! I had them before and should just clear. I like to do things to the max and if it doesnt fit, cut it!

Very nice and mad props for doing it yourself I love it when I do a project and actually fix something
My LCA's were a pain in the butt bc I tried to burn out the bushings
that was a disaster
Coilovers are a great idea, I love mine but the SC depending on your wheels and off sets you might rub when u slam it... oh and don’t for get about the POS wire harness that runs through the DS fender

Twisted give me the lowdown on the LS400 brake swap? I am just looking into that instead of the Supra Big brake swap..I hear offset rim clearance is down on the caliper clearance between the two...Did you need to use LS rotors too. Or could you use your stock rotors with those calipers? Lastly what year LS did those come off...I am thinking of going in your direction...Can you by anychance give me a measurement or distance with caliper clearance...For example with my big brakes I am looking at 2 1/2 caliper clearance and that is too much...
Hope you can answer my questions, and I appologise to slightly derail this thread I am just very impressed with your brake look...Outstanding work... This is a pic of my clearance...

John,
I've just measured the clearance between the stock front rotors and the back of the wheel spokes, there's only 2 1/4" of clearance with 1/4" spacers. That's not enough since many people have mentioned that we need at least 2.5". You know, my rims are exactly like yours. I'm sorry that your Supra brake didn't work out. I think the LS calipers are slightly smaller than the Supra so they might fit better. I'm still looking into it.
