Default Suede Seats?

Ok, new to the site.. Just picked up a 95 SC300 and will be ordering new leather this week. What are your thoughts on the suede inserts? Feel? Longevity? Or is the extra price just so you can say you have suede?

Word. I don't care for how it looks when members put suede inserts in the car.

However, my mom's last car had factory suede (well, alcantara) inserts and the interior was gorgeous. IMO, it's just not something that works with the SC.

suede is suppose to be great for the car enthusiast....stable seating position and no sliding in the winter....probably cooler in the summer...

Thanks for the replies.. Think i will just go straight leather with no suede.. This is my daily driver now, so just need something decent that will last.

It is a little cooler in the summer. Think of it as an expensive alternative to cloth.

I don't like suede in the SC, but the basketball leather style in that Infiniti FX is really different. Looks like it would last long too.

Thumbs up

If im not mistaken the suede will last up to 7 times longer than leather. I think it adds flava to the interior personally. Before you give up on suede check out some pics here on cl and http://www.leatherseats.com/ for some installs. Go for it

Good thing I don't like IS'

but don't get me wrong everybody, I'm sure suede can be done right given the proper accents. Just that I wouldn't be caught dead with suede anywhere near my car (except for that 1x1 inch patch that I promised Tony)

Suede wouldn't look bad if you had a black interior. As long as it's a dark grey or black suede insert I think it would look cool.
