I'm sure most of you reading the title of the thread are thinking, "he needs new bushings." Well that's what I thought. I got my front LCA's switched out last winter for new supra ones, and I thought the problem was over. Now, with the winter settling in again, I'm hearing the same old clunking noise when I go over bumps.
I have the tokico illumina set for my suspension. Its less than a year old so I doubt it's the suspension. Plus, I've heard this sound before with the old suspension. I'm bringing it to a shop to get my trans checked in the next few days so I'll probably ask about the noise too, but just curious if any one have ideas?
I've got that damn clunking too...mine is most apparent when I go at slow speeds and brake. As in stopping and backing up out of a driveway. Kloonk kloonk! damn I hate it...like I said, it shows up at really slow speeds and usually when applying the brakes. I torqued the hell out of all the bolts down there. (lca bolts, caliper bolts, etc) and yet the noise is still there. I have the Daizen lower control bushings so I'm assumming it's the upper control arms (I hope not) or the ball joints...
