Hey has anyone tried to use the JDM climate controll in our cars? Mine has the black screen of death and although I don't really want the JDM version (celcius right?) a USDM just went on ebay for $250!!! Which makes buying a clip look $250 cheaper!!!
Trust me guys, all I've been doing for the last few days is searching! My cluster has a burnt out black lcd screen which as far as I've searched is unrepairable...
What about desoldering the LCD screen from the JDM climate controll and using it as a replacement...?
i heard about this really cool place called lextech lighting and they fix all the kind of stuff and make it cooler for a good price.... u might wanna hit OLT up i think he knows the guys pretty well
I just sent mine to OLT for some nice LED lighting....cant wait to get it back
A little birdie told me it was reshipped.
I don't see the point in going through a complete JDM swap when if it goes bad (and it will) you'll have to find ANOTHER jdm unit to replace it. It's just starting a whole new headache. Get one on ebay and accept the fact this is how it is, it is a common failure and a new one is needed to replace it. Even with things like needles there is not repair, it is a replacement. I don't see much point in all this trouble for a JDM swap, but I certainly won't discourage you from doing what you want to do.
