Hello everyone,
Im planning on Getting an SC300 soon and lower it on coilovers, but i can't find any online or anything.
Are their any very good coilover systems from well known companys like Gab, HKS and others like that out there?
Can You Please Help Me Out?
Thanks,

Don't be some impatient...no one is here to serve your every whim on demand...
The following manufacturers make coilovers for the UZZ30 Soarer (any American SC before the new SC430)...
Gab, Tom's, Sard, Aragosta, Amuse, JIC, Elite Enterprise, AIr Spec (NOT air suspension dispite their name), Kg/mm, Tein, and Rock On.
You can also go with a "limited" height adjustable shock setup. With these, there are set levels of lowering rather than having a gradual setup like coilovers AND you have to get springs. The following manufactures make 'em...Ennepetal (Bilstein shocks), APEXi, and Car Shop Nisiki (Using either Ohlins or Bilstein).
Also El Sport and Buddy Club make coilovers but w/o the spring (height adjustable shock bodies only like the shocks above but with full levels of gradual adjustment...basically, add springs and you have "coilovers")
The following companies make springs...TRD, Kg/mm, Tanabe, Gab, 5Zigen, RS*R, Blitz, Sard, Tein, Bestex, Suske, Espelir, Sheep Dog SDR, Apexi.
So you'll have to do your research to see what setup you want. A few of these companies (like JIC, APEXi, Blitz, etc.) are here in the U.S. so you can call them and ask. But modding a SC isn't a big thing in the US so they may not know ****...you might have to talk to an importer (www.gtautosports.com) to get some info straight from Japan. You can also see if someone else responds to your post, a few members have coilovers in their SC's...

Thanks guys for the Input, I will try to wait longer
.
I think im going with the TEIN Type HA Coilovers.
Does any of you use coilovers on ur Lex?
How does it ride for a lexus, Is it a more stiffer ride compared to getting lowering springs?
Thanks,

Actually, I have the H&R coilovers and they're great. The only issue I have is that the back coilovers won't DUMP. I want the rear wheel to tuck just a TAD (or at least sit even with the fender) but the lowest I can get it is like 0.75" or so gap...I'm sure most people wouldn't dump their cars even that low but I have 20's so it's not really as low as one would think.
As for the ride, I think my GS rides way more comfy than some cars I've owned with just springs (not GS's though). I have tried out a few GS's with L-tuned and other springs and while it is stiffer/harsher, it's not that bad IMO. Many "non car folk" are amazed how well the car rides lowered on 20's...most think the car would just bounce around like a Mexican Jumping Bean...not so!
As for the Tein, I don't know if they make a HA or CS for the SC's...yeah, I just check the website, no HA or CS....they do have a HE...here's the link...

The difference between all of them is the stiffness...
On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the hardest), here's how they rate approximately...1-2 is for comfort (closest to stock), 2-4 is street, 4-6 is sports, 6-8 is racing, and 8-10 is hardcore motorsports...
Tein CS - 1 to 4
Tein HA - 2.1 to 4.5
Tein HE - 3.5 to 7.5
So even with the Tein HE's, you can set them to "softest" which is about the middle setting for the HA's...many people don't seem to mind the HA's ride....

When I bought my SC300, I was actually out looking for a Supra. SO when I put on my *cut* Eibachs and Tocikos, the ride feels about like a Supra. And this is with 40 series tires on 18's. I was expecting the usual bounce around riceboy feel, but amazingly enough it feels like a good 'ol sports car!
I bet if I went with coilovers, I would have a much better ride, and STILL have the performance!

If anyone gets a price on coilovers, shoot me a mail with what that is!

manaray.... Oh i get it now, So it would feel somewhat like a stock ride if i set it to its softest setting ?
I should be getting the SC in about two months time and so far i already know what Suspension and Brakes and other mods i want on it now but i know the engine mods is where all the money is going to add up.
CmputerWiz... Im not accually sure but most of the coilovers i find online are between $1,500 - 2100 Bucks but i think thats without Installation.
SC300TURBO.....Im not going away from the rotories, im not finished upgrading it yet because i just got the car this past may. Im getting the SC because i need a sleeper that i can drive around an not get reved at all the time. So far i have not blown any engines just broken axles and Differentails from launching the car at 7k Rpm's ( i always launch that hard becaus i have HKS Drag Coilovers and a Drag launch kit from Pettit racing ) , but i know the owner before me blew about three engines.I usually hang out at Powerhouse or Towershop. Right now i have a Black 2001 Audi S4 with mods for a daily driver but im sure i will end up selling it when i get the SC.

I was quoted 1400 for a set of tein HE's at the local discount rice burner shop. I will be changing over to that next, I think I'm going to wait for a reason to invade the transmission before I put on the torque convertor. Next I gotta wade through the wheel ocean and find a rim I like, probably multi-piece dished wheels (I wanna see if those new L-tuned OZ 18's will fit, those look ill and for 2300 they're relatively cheap).
V10 KLR - Well on the Tein CS's, the softest setting is closest to stock...on the Tein HE's, the softest setting closer to the hardest setting on the CS's...
MadMax - $1400 for a HE's seems reasonable...
