Default bfi in cali

Has anyone taken their car to get smogged in california with their bfi yet? I'm doing mine tomorrow and just want to know if I'll be having to take it off in two years to pass smog.

I know it improves mpg and such, but smog regulations are haneous and doubt they'd actually care if it was a benefit.

thanks for any info

I can't imagine it would affect emissions...just more air for the engine to breathe better. I think it's the cats that affect smogging.

BFI is also on my to-do list.

GO BEARS!

I agree...I doubt it will affect emissions, but part of the smog-test check list it to inspect the air intake...

Has anyone in california actually taken their car into a smog certifiable shop and passed? Or know someone that would have any answer?

I'm thinking if you do the bfi with that grained plastic it will look OEM enough that the technician won't know the difference, but I don't know for sure. A lot of shops are sticklers on those crazy regulations =/

Yes, before my swap, my n/a passed visual without a problem. The grained plastic used with my install looks oem and they just don't go there.
