Default BFI Question

IF I drill three 3in diameter holes in the stock airbox will that make a noticable difference. Or should I "fabricate" a ram air setup going to it?

Default sure, it will make a difference

You will increase air turbulance and suck in hot engine air.

I ran a fairly scientific study a few years back when I was selling powdercoated CAI airboxes. There was a significant air temp, intake temp and manifold temp increase when not using an airbox.

Not to mention the air flow turbulance problems. Remember that air likes to move in columns.

I will try to find the data I have and repost.

The two most important parts of the BFI are the hole(s) in the airbox AND the scoop created by pulling down the lining. Either one alone is useless and possibly performance reducing.
