Default Retarded question

I feel pretty stupid for asking, but I don't really know... what does bpu stand for?

Once somebody says it, I know I'll get it... DOH!!!

Basic Performance Upgrade.....

Ussually when talking about supras tt, consists of boost controller intake exhaust, gapped plugs and can include cam gears, pulleys etc etc etc.. Basically every bolt on on a supra twin turbo, while keeping stock turbos. Raises the power from 320 hp to 450+ crank hp.

BPU is an intake, boost controller, boost cut controller, downpipe and catback exhaust

anything else you add a plus.... like:
a FMIC
a VPC install (or MAP ECU)
cam gears
wastegate actuator spring mod
etc

basically if you say BPU+++ its pretty much got all the boltons possible and if healthy and a 6-speed, it will be making over 500 crank horsepower at around 19psi

APU is a term not normally used, Tozer in his infinite arrogance came up with the term (or at least claimed it)... it just means there's a single turbo on the car... which probably implies a lot of other stuff too (injectors, standalone ecu, etc)
