Resetting the ECU....
I'd be guessing that on the USDM SC's, the ECU reset would reset the engine ECU, possibly steering ECU as well? It wouldn't stiffen the shocks or anything... only the JDM Soarers fitted with TEMS. Under the bonnet fusebox is the ECU fuse, pull it out for about a minute and refit... no need to d/c the battery (not in the JDM's anyway).
Trackday settings are an absolute marvel... and is the main reason I haven't gone out and bought coilovers! Much better steering response, stiffer suspension, more rev-willing engine and altered gearshift points.
US Guys try locating a diagnostic port under the bonnet/hood (whatever you wanna call it), the terminals should be there. E.g. in the 2.5GT the diag. port is located next to the plenum. It may also show you where the test mode diagnostics terminals are located in the SC service manuals? Just an idea.
(Hope you don't mind me using the pic off your site Bill!)
You can see it, about halfway up the plenum.
I reset my ECU every fortnight~month... I dunno... may sound a little overboard but hey, I've got nothing else to do
