ECU TSB + Battery Question
My IS was built in 12/06, so does the ECU TSB apply to my car as well?
The one where the ECU runs too rich?
If yes, will my battery be reset when they reflash the ECU?
I'm just wondering if all my saved preferences and data will be lost in the process.
Oh, and also, is there a list of TSB's in CL?
I want to know what TSB's there are for IS' with my build date.
If not, there should be a stickied post(hint, hint).
Thanks in advance.

See its weird because when I took mine in for the TSB and they said they reset the ECU but all of my settings are still the same. A few months back they did something that ended up reseting all my settings back to stock. Now I'm questioning whether or not they really reset it or they just BSed me.
For the most part all settings should be retained when the ecu is reset, and the only thing that is really being reset is the fuel adaptation and perhaps some transmission paramaters. Now when you reprogram the ecu and depending on what exactly was reprogramed some of the settings may be set back to stock.
Hmm...during the installation of these exhausts, the guy somehow reset everything.
I don't know what he did, but the previous destinations on my nav were erased, my audio volume levels were at default, and my windows were on the safe mode.
How did he do that? Would that happen when the ECU is reflashed?

The installer disconnected your battery. Lots of techs do this as a safety precaution, and many installation instructions advise the tech to do this first to avoid accidentally deploying an airbag. Disconnecting the battery is not the ideal method for resetting the ECM if you want to retain all your other data. The easy way to retain all the other data if you don't have an OBDII scanner is to remove two fuses. This is covered in the FAQ with a pictorial in the thread.
You will not notice an ECM reset in anything you touch directly. There is also nothing you can "program" into the ECM - there are no stored preferences, not even LPS settings stored in the ECM, they are in other ECUs in the car. FWIW, there are quite a few computers in our cars.
