Cool Whats this dash warning lamp...orange car with traction problem?

There is a warning lamp on my SC300 (1992) thats on the instrument cluster up high between the temp gauge and tach, it looks like orange car that is shooting something from the rear tires (or shining something from the rear lights). Car is positioned vertically, hood pointing up. I dont have a pic, but it comes on every once in a while, but goes away then I pull over, turn off and restart the car. What gives?

a rear lightbulb is out somewhere. Have a friend step on the brakes while the car is parked and then look to see what doesn't light up

Matter of fact, to hell with it...change them all...no sense in removing a tail light to only change one bulb, another one will fail in short order (most likely) so just change them all while the tail light is out. Good luck.

Check your wiring for your Third brake light, in the rear windshield. If it goes off and on like you say, it's possible you've got either a fualty wire or a faulty connection back there.

yea check the wiring, its just one of the rear lights that probably have went out. it happened when half of my 3rd brake light went out. it happned to me just now and i realized my pass taillight far right is dead. weird thing is i replaced all those bulbs so something is just loose. i'm too lazy to pull it out right now so i just pulled a fonzie and hit my taillight once and it worked again, lol

That's the turbo warning light due to too much power. Did you recently turbo your car? Double check under the hood to see if there is a turbo in there. That's probably it.

I had the same problem and found that my taillight sockets were corroded really bad. I replaced the harnesses and problem gone.

I had the same problem... the warning light flashed once or twice over a week long period when I first bought the car, and I've never seen it again.... something must have been loose somewhere.

HA. I wish that were the case with my dash, I've got that light permanently on because of my aftermarket spoiler, so I have to keep the third brake light disconnected. If you ask me, when it was wired, the third brake light wires shouldve just been fed directly to the spoiler. I don't see why this roundabout approach was taken. Then again, I didn't have the wiring done, it had already been done.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe the models with the spoiler from the factory didn't have a third brake light. It seems like I remember seeing a few SC4's that had the spoiler and it had a much smaller subwoofer cover and no third brake light...could be wrong though.
