I'm not sure about the year of your buddy's truck, but new Tundras come with a VVT-I motor, which would involve not only the motor but some significant ECU transplants from truck to SC which would make it difficult IMO.

There is a member that used the interals from a 2uz to stroke his 1uz from 4.0 to 4.7 liters. I'm not sure on the details but do a search.

I just picked up a 2UZFE shortblock yesterday and doing a stroker for it and trying to get it up to 5.5 liter. I am also putting in some boost into it. I would like to put this in a SC400. Here are some pictures.
Left is Tundra and Right GS430 (2 bolt main vs. 6 bolt main)

1, 2 and 3uzfe Rod: (from left to right)

Oh boy. Looks like you have some work cut out for yourself David. What's the eventual goal?

hey, all those rods look about the same length!
is it the crank that gives the 2uz the extra stroke? (just like the 1jz vs 2jz)

I have done lots of research on the 1uz, 2uz and 3uz.... Here is an article about 1 and 3 uz rods
http://www.lextreme.com/rods.html Yes all uzfe rods are the same specs.... except 1uzfe is the strongest of all.

I am working very close with an engine builder using some other aftermarket off the shelve performance parts to stroke it. I am also trying to convert the 2 bolt main into 6 bolt main on the Tundra block......

My Goal: Stroke the 4.7 with boost and using 1uz heads... with 6 stud main

Read links below for details on block and pistons...

David, no offense, but why are you worried about converting the iron block to 6 bolt mains? I truely doubt that is one of the weak points, not to mention you may be opening up a can of worms and actually weakening the block. If you do anything, you might consider a girdle, but I really doubt even that is needed.

I am making a engine girdle right now for the 1uz and 3uz, but it would not work on the 2uz. Coverting the bolt is a lot of work. The goal is to get more cubic into the 4.7.

You might want to read other site specialized in Lexus V8 Swap. There are lots of info on the net about 2uzfe swap into sc400. Here is a picture of 2uzfe into Supra MKIV engine bay. Its too tall and the hood would not close.

I bet that engine would fit fine without such a tall intake manifold.

And back to your 6bolt conversion, I really have no idea why you would want to even venture down that road. I can obviously understand stroking to over 5 liters, but the two-bolt iron block is fine for that, and drilling 4 more holes around every cap, into a block that was NOT cast to accept them is probably just going to make the block weaker.

Yeah... after i fully study the main caps.... its too much work and not really need. I will try making it 4 studs main. About the swap.... I am planing to use 1uz heads and intakes. That will clear the hood. 2uz intake is too tall and would not fit under the hood.
