Default Eibachs are Finally Installed

Hi folks,

Well after having them sitting in my trunk for 2 weeks, I finally found a great place to do the install out in SoCal, El Monte (Thanks 2JZSC3. Great guy. Beautiful car).

Anyways, my one day review...first thing, the car does not look "aftermarket lowered". Like everyone knows, it only goes down about an inch from stock. Still it makes the car look just right. As someone said..."this is how it should look from the factory". The springs had hose wrapped on the upper coils so I don't get the dreaded "clanks".

As for the ride. It's more firm than stock, but not harsh at all. The ride feels somewhere between my friends Mazda6 Sport and bro's BMW 330i (Note: I also have Daizen sways). Not bad at all considering the Lex is tuned for comfort over handling performance.

A buddy and I took our cars on a mini canyon run last night and the SC performed great. I was able to take the turns with much more confidence. Car did not feel loose at all. Even on the more agressive turns...the car kept digging in and held the lines well.

I am very pleased with this setup. Though it's not slammed as some may prefer...IMO, the look is good without drawing attention from cops and the local ricers.

Here's a good before/after pic showing the lowering amount for those who are wondering.

Oops. Knew I forgot something. These are SC400 Eibachs using SC struts. So yes, they don't drop nearly as low. Just wanted people to know there is a difference in looks...though ever so slight.

they look good even though subtle, plus they'll settle down the road. you can probly fill up the wheel gap with thicker tires, jus my 2cents. gluck with the rest of the car.

There is more feel over bumps and road imperfections...not by a whole lot, but I notice a difference. Going over speed bumps...at compression, the feel is more firm. I take them at regular speed since i'm nowhere near scraping.

Yes, they are the stocks from the GS4. 17x8 all around. I'm also using 25mm spacers in back. I'll get a pic up soon.

For me the drop is pretty close to even front and back. It's a tight 2 fingers all the way around. I do have some cushions on the rear springs (to stop the clunking sound)...so that prolly makes the rear a little higher.

Here's the rear shot. Wheels are GS400 17" using H&R 25mm spacers.
