i want to know if anybody drifts their SC? i have been for the last year and can't find many suspension tuning parts. so far i have cusco L.S.D and lowered on eibach withe 17x10 and 17x9 rh rims. i like the ride, but i think it needs a GOOD sway bar any suggestions? also i want to upgrade the motor to 1jz in which i already have the motor, but i was thinking single turbo. any suggestion on size? remember this is a wanna to be drift car.

 

yes, i drift my sc a couple times a week lol, if your looking for sways, look into daizen or the trd, if you don't have much money you can get the stock tt sways. Look into replacing your bushings, brakes ect ect same as any other drift car, just find out who makes what parts you need. hope this helped

 

There's plenty of suspension mods for the sc.

So far I'm using:

TRD sways with supra mounts
jic tie rods
JTO traction rods
JTO toe rods
JIC upper links
do luck rear ladder bar
cusco front strut bar
custom rear stut bar (wraps around the gas tank)
daizen bushings

 

could you post some more info on the custom rear tower bar?
Also are the JIC upper links capable of adjusting camber?

JIC uppers only allow you to increase negative camber.

Yeah... the stuff is out there, remember the Supra stuff pretty much bolts up with he correct mounts, so there are a number of possibilities. My teammate drifts a GS300 and the biggest single improvement he did was to lower the car as far as he could and lower the center of gravity.

My suspension is still stock, but that's more of a factor of money than anything else, I do have the bushings to install, but I've got some engine issues to address. The last guy who had the car had the engine out of the car and the head off, and then halfassed the engine back together

I'm hitting issues galore, including finding coolant cappuchino on my oil cap, so she's off the road until I can get a HG and clean up some of this bobotech stuff that was done.

Lack of power and torque are my biggest problems right now... it's hard to keep the rears spinning in the dry, and if I'm not running on all cylinders with good compression due to a mistorqued head, then that's probably a huge factor there. LSD will be coming soon to help with the pegleg.

 

If you are planning on going single, use a turbo with a quicker response like around the size of a T66. I wouldn't plan on using anything larger than that.

 

You need to get Hyper Rev Vol. 35 Soarer Edition. It list many parts for the Soarer (z10, z20, and z30 models). Its a bit dated 2001 I think- but it covers alot of parts.

i would suggest the titan motorsports sway bars very good mod and for those of u that have the jic tie rods how much did that do for you?

Definatly not as strong, and I heard that this would only be sufficent for drag racing, as it makings turning the car a pain...

 

yeah welding it focres both rear wheels to go the same speed, so when you make a turn the inside tire will chirp a bit as it is forced to go the same speed as the outside wheel. I wouldn't recommend this method

 

well actually... if you think about it... welding the diff would make it the strongest LSD because technically it wouldn't be a "Limited Slip Diff" it would be a "No Slip Diff"

and whether or not it would hold up depends entirely on the welder... welder does a wack job then don't count on it holding up at all.

and yes... while you will still be able to turn... you'll hear your tires screech when you do. That's why this is optimal for drag racing as you only go in a straight line.

My buddies who are running hardcore LSDs (2-WAYS) complain about all the noise it makes when they turn. This is the LSD trying to "Limit" the difference in rotation between the 2 wheels.
