Unless your going to run a lot of 1/4 miles there is not much practicality to run over 4-500 HP.
Even at that HP it's hard to keep the car straight with so much friggen power.
Up to you though if you want to go with big numbers. You'll probably get more life with stock internals running less Boost and making less HP.

Both engines are basically identical so there for building one or the other would be about the same. Its just the fact that there arent many 1jz's in the states so not to many people have put them to their limits..... (yet)

I know this thread is dead but i'd rather not start a new one.
So you all are saying that i can have a daily driven 600-700whp 1jz just like a 2jz?The guy that did the single turbo and cams only making 833whp,how long did his engine last running that?
Since i'm already posting here can the supra's GETRAG tranny bolt up to it?
