does this mean that my clearance from strut to rim will just be 40mm less?
is anybody on this forum running 10" wide wheels with the stock offset of 50mm?
I have heard that rubbing suspension is a limiting factor in regards to wheels. A 12 is going to get close to the strut and spring on a SC (soarer), however, space it out and deal with the fender, and you should be fine,
according to the calculator.. if my current wheels have a width of 6.5 and an offset of 50.. and i mount a 12 inch wheel with an offset of 20, then "The clearance from strut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 40mm LESS".
however..
when i put in measurements on a 10 inch wide wheel, with an offset of 50, its actually closer to the suspension components than a 12 inch wide wheel with 20mm offset.
soon i will try it out.. i ahte waiting for stuff from japan..
i'd really like to refrain from using spacers, but worst comes to worst i will..

The Veilsides I have are 10" rear with a 49 offset, I ran a 275/35/18 tyre on that and the car was lowered. I did not have any rubbing issues...
Thanks for the reply gamer.
I plan on running a 12" wide wheel with a 20mm offset, but I was asking if any SC owners
were running a 10" wide wheel with the 50mm stock offset, because both of these setups provide the same space when it comes to strut/wheel clearance (-40mm than oem). According to all the calculations.. a 12" wide wheel on an SC with a 20mm should fit (in terms of clearing suspension components), but anything considerably higher than 20mm will not.. anything lower than 20mm will clear the strut more but will clear less when it comes to the fender..
Sorry about that OLT, I think this suspension section is neglected by a lot and I was looking for a timely response.
if the 10" +50 is fine than you will most likely be fine too for clearance
btw don't worry about spacers they are fine !! People are scared to use them on this forum. You can buy ones that have the studs pressed in already for a quick install. KICS project and others makes these and you can get the hubcentric rings included for a few bucks extra.
