a lot: easier than a full overhaul, but more difficult than an oil change.
If you're never changed out pistons before, it'll take quite some time.
If you have someone do it, most likely looking at ~$1K.
A lot = 2k of labor or more. you will have to plastigauge bearings. Second option is to get a TT short block. Getting the parts isn't fun.....Toyota take a long long time getting the rods in.

what about the new gammy shortblocks running around? I'd do it myself if I had the money and time for parts. Not to mention sst's. Might give it a go this winter. or wait til next...
