BM, any idea on the timetable for when you may get this done? It would help me out to see a finished product before I go ahead and try.

 

im gonna try it this sunday... gonna practice on the SC300 emblem to see how it turns out. i'll post pics when its done...

i've heard that the L and the LEXUS emblems have holes on the trunk and that the SC300 was just a sticky/glued.... can anybody confirm this?

 

Depends what year you have. I think the 95+ or 97+ were ALL stick on, whereas the any other model has holes behind the big L, behind the SCxxx, and behind the Lexus (all on the rear). The hood L is stick on for every model.

 

alright...I just swapped out my faded gold for shiney silver chrome emblems this afternoon...

on my 95 SC4, it was like this

front L - 3 holes
back L - 4 holes
LEXUS - 5 holes
SC400 - 3 holes

I know it may sound wierd...but that's what I had to deal with today

It was a little odd, cuz my chrome set, which was factory brand new (still sealed, etc.) had the front L and the LEXUS emblems as just stickes, and the back L and the SC400 had correct pegs for the holes.

Maybe the gold package was more prone to theft, so LExus decided to put holes in the front as well for the gold packages?? that's the only thing I can think of, but my factory silver emblems DO have pegs in the "LEXUS" on the back.
