Worth Fixing?? (with pictures)
Hi everyone,
This is my first post here. I recently crashed my 1993 SC300 and am looking for advice to sell it as is, or spend the money to repair it. Let me 1st say, I love the car, but I do not have a lot of $$ right now, and insurance is not going to cover it. And maybe some of you can help me with what you think this will cost me. I am able to throw down around $2000, but I don't want to put down too much more than that. I know you won't be able to tell much from these pictures, but any advice would be great. The car is in great shape otherwise, and has 200,000 miles on it. Actually, it is also need of a clutch as well. Here are the pictures, tell me what you think. Thanks everyone, this is a great forum here. Let me also say, it was another car that hit me there, and the other front wheel is pointing straight....thanks

Wheres the insurance money from the other guy if he hit you?
With $2000 you wont be able to restore it.
From what I see this is what you need:
Bumper
Hood
Fender
Wheel / Tire
Axle Fixed
Frame damage???
Shocks/Struts
"and the other front wheel is pointing straight...."
And who knows what else is damaged. Your axle is damaged, which automatically gives it a salvaged title. Your control arm is still okay, but I dont know about repairing everything else
IMHO I wouldnt go for it, esp. if it has 200,000 miles on it.

Yeah, I'm confused here. regardless if it's no fault or not, he hit you. His/her insurance should be covering. And if he/she didn't have insurance, you should have something in your policy to cover you for uninsured drivers.
Also, the 200,000 miles shouldn't discourage you. These cars can handle that plus quite a bit more!! (if maintained properly!)

snow was the factor.....I didn't have collision insurance and I slid in to the other persons lane(so I was at fault) so my insurance only covers their damage. The car has been taken great care of, so the 200.000 is not a huge deal. Thanks everyone for the input.........
