for a 1992 sc400, how do you remove the shifter? I can't seem to figure out how to remove it.

Btw: if anyone has a stock shifter, let me know since i think i broke mine while trying to remove it. LOL...

 

First, let me say, Try the search function. Your answer is in here many times over. But to speed things up for you this time...... I'm assuming you are asking how to remove the shift **** only?
Below the "vinyl" **** itself is a plastic sleeve. Grab hold and push it down. When it slides down it will reveal 2 screws that hold the **** onto the shifter itself. Viola!!

 

slide down the plastic piece while the car is in neutral...and remove the 2 screws..

i actually found this method on some "how to remove your headunit" website. it had instructions on how to remove the radio in every car. just did a google search.
