Post

Some time ago, Stoplight and DickLexus mentioned the labor guide that was in the old Ladman Lexus website and that reminded me that I had a printed copy. I had a lot of trouble scanning and getting it into the post – so had to enter the data into Word – I’ve checked it and think that it’s an accurate representation of the original but can’t guarantee that no errors exist. It actually included other models but due to space limitations I’m only posting the SCs for now – the other models can come along later if there’s interest in them. Here it is……. Sorry about the format - the post won't tab or align - the first figures are SC400, the second SC300 - I'll be glad to e-mail the formatted chart to anyone who wants it. Time given is in hours.

SC400 SC300
Alternator .8 .9
Starter 4.9* .8
Front brakes 1.0 1.0
Rear brakes 1.0 1.0
Front rotors 1.0 1.0
Rear rotors 1.0 1.0
Water pump/timing belt 5.2 3.6
Flush cooling system .7 .7
Thermostat .8 .8
Master cylinder 1.3 1.3
Brake booster 2.4 2.4
Front struts, both sides 4.8 4.8
Rear struts, both sides 3.6 3.6
Ignition wires 1.0 2.5*
Cap/rotor 1.2 .5
Spark plugs 1.0 2.9*
Fuel filter .6 .6
Air filter .5 .5
Power steering pump 1.9 1.6
Valve adjust 3.2 2.2
Power window motor 1.8 1.8

BTW, I showed an asterisk (*) on the same items as the chart - the chart doesn't have a legend to explain what the * is for?? Obviously, it's something important cause the times are way different - but don't know what the difference is???? (2.9 hours to change plugs on SC300 and only 1.0 for an SC4 ???)

Seeing these labor times again makes me remember why I got a Lexus instead of something British. (I used to have a Triumph that recommended changing the engine every 3500 miles, but you could keep the same oil)

Thanks for taking the time to post the numbers Garnet92.

thanks for the chart Garnet. Seeing the times for the shock install I won't be modifying those again anytime soon. Whats up with the time difference for the starter install between the 400 and the 300? Thats a big nut of time and one I hope I won't have to do soon.

the starter on the sc400 is under the intake where the starter on the sc300 is on the driverside you guys need to quit whining about prices lets see the type of work those hacks would do on your cars for struts with labor of 100. pull your heads out of your asses and quit whining
