How do I remove my front headlamps
Morning!
This question is for everyone. I would have figured it out myself but I left my Lexus cd auto repair back in Memphis. I'm in Florida and my headlights are filled w/water and moisture. I know there's at least two bolts holding the headlights to the vehicle one is right there once you open the hood but how do you get to the one by the front quarter panel? Or basically how do you remove the *&*^%* headlights?
Done it once before but I was lets just say not in a normal state of mind.
Any help will be greatful.
Please email at van25_99@yahoo.com
or call 1-800-374-7488x131 and leave a detailed instructions. For the one who does help me out I have an extra set of XENONS hyperwhite bulbs to give for free just for your help. I'll even pay for the shipping costs.
I just want to be able to drive back to memphis with a clear vision on the road.
Thanks Lexus Members,

Banking,
There's only 1 screw up top and 2 screws inside the fender wheel...
*remove a couple of fender wheel screws
*the are 2 10mm nuts to be removed that actually holds the lights in place.
The entire instructions are in the thread "Damnnnnnnnnn!" that I posted. I will post a new entry to that post, so it will come to this page.....
Good luck... Enjoy Florida...
If you need more detail than that e-mail me at TheIkon1911@yahoo.com

Where in Florida are you? If you're close, I'll come by and do it for you.
The trick is to jack the car up, remove the tire and splash shield, then use a long extension w/ 10mm socket to break the nuts loose. From here hopefully you can use your fingertyips to spin off the nuts.

No, no, no... that's entire to much extra work Keith. (check out the "Damnnnnnnnnn" thread )
Just turn the wheel to the inside of the wheel you are working on and the few screws are right there... Just pull back the wheel well to assess the 2 nuts to the headlight....
Next is when you use the ratchet/extension... It only take 10 minutes tops, per side and that's taking your time..... You can save yourself 40 minutes from jacking, removing the wheel, put the wheel back on, etc...
Just some advice, I got from "Relexin247". This is what CL is about!

Yes, I agree, you don't need to remove the tire if you know what youre doing (thats why I would have met him in a parkinglot and removed it for him there), but I thought it would be easier for someone to have more room to work in if they spent an extra 5 mins to jack up the car. Moving back the splash guard is just easier for a novice w/ no tire on the car and plenty of "Head" room. Especially when they are looking for some screws which they have no clue of what they are where they are. I was merely trying not to assume everyone has as much experience working on cars. A lot of people on this forum aren't do it yourselfers and need things done simpler as opposed to time efficient. Removing a tire is so simple any only takes an extra few minutes.

Keith and IkON,
Thank You to both of you guys. That helped me out so much and both of you will receive a set of xenon bulbs. Just email me your address and expect it in about a week.
Keith I was traveling from the Keys up north to Clearwater than to Destin to complete the merger deal.
Thanks for offer. I certainly do appreciate your generosity.
