Default Could this be suspension problem?

Hi,
I'm trying to troubleshoot the problem I'm having with my 93 SC400. I bought this car just recently from a friend who left the country.
When the car hit a bump, sometimes even a small one, I hear knocking sound. This sound seems to come from trunk area near the passenger-side rear wheel. I checked the trunk and couldn't find anything loose. The Nak CD changer in the trunk is no longer used, as the car has been retrofited with new CD receiver in the dash. Could the noise come from this changer? It doesn't seem so though. Or is it because I have a bad shock? According to my mechanic that I trust with all my car problem, the shocks looked new (not Lexus original) and he didn't notice anything wrong with it.
Another thing that I notice is at low speed when the car just run from stop, there is vibration which causes my body to shake from side to side (not up and down). Also it feels like the passenger-side rear wheel not round, but had a bulge somewhere, although of course it is not the case if I look at it from the outside. Has anybody had this kind of problem? Do you think this is related to the knocking noise I hear which is coming from the same area? What might cause this....bad suspension?

Default Why guess?

Stuff someone in your trunk and drive around a while until the exact location of the noise is determined.

Found out the noise was not from the trunk. I eliminated everything that might cause noise from the trunk, but the noise is still there. Can bad suspension give me that knocking/impact noise?
