Default electric fans on for 3 seconds???

i installed my fal 210's and when the fans kick on, they only stay on for about 2-3 seconds and shut off. is this normal for the electric fan conversion??

did u put in the supplied thermostat relay? It shouldnt turn off unless the car is under a certain temperature. I beleive its supposed to kick in at around 270 degress or something and stay on till the temperature drops below a certain temperature. I have mine wired to be on all the time. if the fans are not on when the car is past 270 your car will surely overheat.

I overheated a few times when my connect fell loose and my fans turned off but now i made sure to secure my connects and solder everything.

If it's not overheating, what's the problem? It sounds like the thermostat switch is turning them on when needed. It's probably safe to assume it's turning them off when not needed.
Does it cycle frequently, like a few seconds on, a few seconds off? If so, you might want to adjust your turnon temprature to be a bit higher. Otherwise, if it only takes 3 seconds, so be it!
My 210's run for 10-15 seconds at a time, but come on infrequently and my gauge never goes above the halfway mark (not that that means anything for these cars )

PS - If you're having the dreaded vibration problem with them, FAL will send you new, balanced blades for FREE!

Contact Bob Reader at Flex-A-Lite - bob@flex-a-lite.com. They'll want you to send in some kind of proof of purchase and then they just send the blades. Sweet!!

I couldn't say. Contact Bob and explain your situation. You've got nothing to lose!

You could ask him about the 3 second thing as well!
