Default turbo kit or 2jzgtte

Hi i have a 93 sc300 with 85000. I want to turo my car but i dont want to spend crazy money. I will be doing all the work my self. I was worndering how hard is it to put a 2jzgtte in a sc. ive heard it is hard. I would rather have a single turo any opinions. I also plan to redo the bottom end of my stock motor if i turbo it. finally what do u think is a fare price for a turbo kit i have found them for 4000 +.

turbo the stock motor, and run under 10 psi , stock internals should handle if u have sufficient fuel

Depends on the power levels you want. Let me know what you are looking for HP wise so I can steer you in the right direction.

I'm almost in the same boat as you. My engine has 184,000 miles on it, but it has been rebuilt before, so I dunno what to do, hehe. I may put the turbo off for a while and in the meantime get some Xerd headers.

If you plan to go turbo, even if a little further down the road, buying headers now would be a waste.
If you're going to turbo, saeve th emoney for a turbo.
If you decide to squeeze power out of an NA, go ahead and get the headers.

I was in this same situation with intake.
I knew I was going turbo sooner or later (turned out to be sooner) but wanted an Injen intake.
I just told myself that the intake would have to be thrown away once i gt my turbo on, and that $200+ could be spent in a better way.
So instead I ended up buying a SAFC since I knew i could get some power by using it right away, and then it would be needed when I get my turbo on.

Good luck wichever way you go.

P.S. We're getting our packages today =)

go ahead with a compression check before anything else. If your compression is good, you should be okay with the turbo kit. If not, might as well do the GTE swap since a rebuild will be very expensive. Like SPORTcoupe said, headers and a full intake would be a waste, but if you want something now for the moment, go with something that can still b used later. i.e. intake filter without the pipe (that will save you the heatsoak of an aluminum pipe anyway) or an exhaust. Its quite possible the biggest gains at the NA power level that would still be usable later would be an s-afc or the like. Gains with an intake arent much anyway.
