Thats why even if it settles, the sc4 springs on the sc3 will not lower it as much as the sc3 on the sc3.
Spring rate doesnt affect ride height...

And if you wanan go with another spring/shock combo, go for the supra eibachs, or any aftermarket SUPRA suspension. Good luck

it's strange that you are hating the Eibach/Tokico combo that bad...

I just switched from Espelirs to Eibach/Tokico and I couldn't be happier with the ride...smooth as a baby's bottom...of course it's not as low as I'd like, but I'll sacrifice the look for the ride quality...

Hope things go well for you...

of course it doesn't affect ride height on the same car, but it definitely does when its used on a heavier/lighter car. The springs may be made to lower a 1 ton car at 1" but if you install it on a 2 ton car, don't you think it will be lower than 1"? thats what i meant about the sc4 springs on an sc3, they're both supposed to lower the car at 1" but the sc4 springs on an sc3 will not lower it as much. Hope you know what i'm trying to say.

Default suspension

Well guys, I rode around tonight to give it a shakedown. After a while I could see that I could get used to a stiffer ride. Lane changing is immediate. Feels stable at high speed. Still get a thud sound over small bumps...not the big bumps the small ones. Could be caused by having the wrong springs. The technician says there's nothing wrong. I guess I need to give it some time after I get the right springs on. I'm a little disappointed Lexuspros didn't overnight the springs for me since it was them who screwed up.

For those who wanted to know about the strut bar. It doesn't fit flatly on the surface of the car body. The bar touches some engine parts. the technician didn't feel it was safe to install the proper way. What I can do is mount it on top of the bolts raising it higher for better clearance. Don't know how it'll look though. I'll tackle that after getting the suspension scared away.

Reggie -if I'm not mistaken the top of your strut tower has a black washer type ring that the strut nuts bolt down to ..If you get a few more of those washers and double or triple stack them than your bar should clear...Hope this helps..

Thanks Johnee, that's exactly my problem and the fix is better than the one I planned. Way to go dude.

Oh, and about you guys talking me into lowering the car. Yes, I'll admit there was some influence. But most of it was from how your cars look, not what you said. It's true I never intended to lower my car. What changed my mind?
The Zenetti wheels I had were 8.0 x 19 front with 40 offset. The width was narrow enough to make my 245-40-19 tires tall enough to fill the gap (for me). The 40 offset pushed the wheels to the edge. Those two issues changed with the new wheels. They are 44 offset and 8.5 width. The slight width increase flattened the tire a little. The 44 offset pushed in the tire. Now there's too much gap. Can't have that.

But I like it that you were a little concerned you guys talked me into something I may not be happy with. It shows what kind of guy you really are. You made me feel better showing your concern. Thanks. I'm a little dramatic. I'll probably get used to the ride and keep the new stuff. Hope to see ya soon.

The front isn't lowered yet, only the back. Remember, they sent me the wrong springs. I'll post pics as soon as everything is done.

reggie

i have a question for you... did you buy the tokico illumina adjustable shocks.. i dont remember.. if you did did you check the setting to see if its on the stiffest setting.. if it is adjustable then set the rear softer then the front for better ride quality

i also might suggest what johnee was suggesting and do the coilovers so you can set the height and ride comfort to your liking

I don't think they're adjustable. I'll check when they come off again. Bottom line is I'll put the the right springs on when I get them. I'll give it a couple months to get broken in. If I don't like it I'll go back to stock. Or maybe put the stock springs back on the rear and keep the eibach's on the front. Besides, most people say the coilovers are stiifer than the Eibach springs.

You guys out there who have had the Eibach/Tokico set up before going to coilovers chime in. Which is the softer ride?

actually on the teins setup for coils they are not as stiff as eibach when then eibachs are coupled with tok or koni

the teins may have a higher spring rate but because you can adjust the damping to suit your style and comfort level you will retain the desired ride height , the desired handling improvements and most of all the desired ride comfort..

the only other option is the jdm espeliger springs which would have been my first choice , they will lower more then eibach but its spring rate is almost like oem so the ride will not suffer and then the tokico adjustability would have completed the setup

good luck and if you want to pass by one day i would be honored to take it for a drive and give you my impressions

oh btw you cant use stock and aftermarket springs very very dangerous to do your car will be all over the road with diff spring rates

I never liked an even drop all around. usually the front is higher than the back stock so i like getting a drop like 1.3" in the front and 1" in the back. it looks alot nicer. Like everyone said it does take a while to settle in, my coilovers settled about half an inch or more after a month. The teins are a night and day difference compared to the eibach tokico ride. I've ridden on eibach and tokicos in all my previous cars and it was stiff as shiet. I guess like they say you get what you paid for but if you ever decide to get a different setup consider the tein basics, the height adjustability is very usefull and its obviously not as stiff as the eibachs and tokicos.
