Default Teaser pic 3....the final chapter

The last piece of my suspension set-up came tonight. The Eibachs. Took a while...delayed by Hurricane Francis and the jerks at the first company i used. Got 2 of the 3 items from Lexuspros and will always use them when possible. Leo at Lexuspros was straight and honest. Everything came when he said it would. The set-up will be installed this weekend...hopefully.

Those are gonna complete your car man, very nice. You installing them yourself or bringing them to a shop?

Thanks but I would rather pay someone to do it right and timely. I believe the springs need to be compressed. I don't know anyone with a machine to do that in their home garage. What about it lexforlife, you got a spring compressing machine in the garage?
Found a shop recommended by my wheel supplier who's charging $275 + $89 for alignment.
This won't complete the car. I have one more mod I'm gonna do to it. Stay tuned.

I installed my new suspension 2 weekends ago with a friend. All you need is a $30 "outside spring compressor" from Advance Auto parts (which you can then return when you're done ), and then just normal hand tools and automotive knowledge/experience. Hell, I could install yours for half of that in a few hours. Good luck

yeah you can just rent a spring compressor for free at any autoparts store. Just gotta leave a deposit. Its not too dificult a job to do yourself.

If you live near Palm Beach, Custom Wheel Connection will install the springs and shocks for $120 and have it done in 2 hours. Tehy can also do the alignment cheaper then that as well.

Pure frickin' robbery. They're charging over $100 more than they should for the springs/struts and about $20 more than they should for the alignment. But it's your car and your money, just let us know how it rides afterwards.

$15 for a spring compressor at autozone. I got my shocks and springs off in 10hrs though but i had lunch and dinner so it was actually around 8 1/2 hours of work.

I did a tutorial that has gotten some good feedback. 6 hours tops if you rent the tool at autozone.

You think this is high...the Lexus dealership quoted me a price of $833. I thought $275 was a bargain.

$833!!!!

$275!!!

do it yourself: priceless...just a lil back pain afterwards

I would rather rent the spring compressor and do it yourself, it's pretty easy if you have a friend to help. It's just a couple of screws. Then just go to a shop and get it aligned.

8 hours no way.... not even 6. Maybe 4 or 6 if you dont have air tools and its your first time. but i did it in about 3 hours. you can do the rears in 20 minutes + maybe half an hour to compress the springs depending on if you have air tools. the fronts should take about 2 hours maybe more depends on how well you know the car and if you run into issues. .

$275 is high way robbery they must be charging 100 an hour or they are really incompitent. Either way 120-180 sounds like the usual price shops install it for.

I also installed my spring/struts and it took me and a friend about 3 hours doing it in my driveway. It really is easy to do. I rented a spring compressor from a local auto store. Save the money!!! DIY
