Unhappy

wassup guys
my 93 sc400 has recently been making some weird shaking and vibrating noises as
i go around 45-50 miles per hour. the steering wheel begins to stutter when im going over 45 mph.
i have 18"rims and i recently went on a huge *** pothole, but i cant see no dents or anything wrong with my rims,
so im thinking its an engine problem??
please help meee

How Many miles? Might be motor mounts.

First go to a competent rim repair/installation shop and have the tire checked to see it is "true" and not bent / warped. Sometimes the naked eye can not detect defects. This should be free too, especially if it was the shop that you purchased the rims from or you give the "impression" you will do business with them and you should if it has been proven bent. Depending on the $$$ of course!

You could've easy knocked the wheel out of balance by loosing a weight. Also, have the alignment done while you're at it.

You could have damaged the tire itself (tire shop/free inspection)... hope you have a road hazard warranty.

It could be the motor supports, which can be detected rather easily in most cars... by observing the movement of the engine after putting it in drive, neutral(raising the motor) and reverse. Better yet, go by at least 2 mechanics and have it checked out, this should be a free estimate.

You can also approach the city/county/state for reimbursement if it was at night, raining, snowing, dark pavement, of light pavement if the spends are above certain speeds, basically anything if you are persistent. If it is the rim and tire claim it on your insurance policy depending on the deductible/policy.. I hope you had the wheel/tires included!!! Good luck!!!
