Default JIC Bumper destroyed again.

I'm so pissed i can't even think straight.

A friggin brick laying on the middle of road destroyed my JIC bumper.
Went to the bodyshop and was told it is impossible to refibeglass it.
This is the second time my bumper is destroyed.

To make things worse, my deductible is 1000 dollars, so it's useless to go through the insurance.

I'm thinking of replacing the JIC bumper with stock 97+ bumper.
Do you think it will look stupid with jic side and rear?

I just can't stand all these crap I go through running around with 2 inch bumper clearance.

that sux man. i know what you mean. that's one of the main reasons why i got 20s with my kit. I have the extra ground clearance. i hope all is well though...

if you put the 97+ bumper with your aftermarket sides, it might look kinda weird because the front fascia will not be as low as the side skirts and rear. I guess you can say it will not look balanced.

If I'm going to be destroying my front bumper every 3 months..I'd rather have it be a cheap bumper...

I don't want to shell another 550 dollars for the JIC bumper.
since I, too, think the 97+ stock bumper is going to look 'unbalanced', I'm thinking of going with either bomex (270 dollars) or a GTP bumper ( 400, a little pricey, but more of my taste).

First question. there are two kind of bomex bumper: one for 92 -96 and one for 97+.
I want to keep my fogs, so does the 97+ one fit on my 94 SC?

Second question. Has anybody had any experience with the GTP bumper shown below?

Also does anybody know of a place besides GTP that sells bomex bumper for cheaper?

Bomex

GTP blueclass blah blah blah

Chrono;

That GTP front bumper would look great with the JIC skirts...I never liked how the Bomex bumper flares out on the sides...

so does the 97+ one fit on my 94 SC?
Should fit with no problems...

I know it would look nice, but I'm just worried about fitment and quality.
Anybody had experience?

im not a photoshop kind of guy, but just imagine the 97+ bumper about 1.5-1.75 inches higher than the rest of the kit.

I got an idea, you can sell your rear and sides to OLT to go with his bomex and get the 97+ conversion.

Watch out for Bomex, they have redone most of their products and are now using cheaper materials to help be "competitive" with the BlueGlass and other **** body kits out there. A local body shop has done a few supras with this kit and when they recieve the latest kit they said it was pretty much garbage, compared to some of hte quality kits they where getting 2-3 years ago from Bomex.

Just replace the JIC for a new one and be more careful for flying objects.

This is just great....

I called GTP and was told that they have one bumper in stock. They said the fitment is crap.
Good thing I called twice to make sure, because the first person on the phone said the kit is very sturdy and great in fitment.

Then I called Carson toyota to see if they have JIC magic bumper in stock. They said 'not at this moment, but there's one coming in a few weeks'. First, I can't wait a 'few weeks', second, the price is almost 600 which would make it around 750 shipped. So this is not an option.

The other option is bomex, but I don't like the side flare as someone posted above.

I don't know what to do.
