Default rear bumper.

Im getting the 97-00 front bumper and side skirts in a few weeks to put on my 95, is the 97-00 rear bumper differnt from the 95? Should I get the 97-00 rear bumper as well? Anyone have pics of the 97 rear bumper? thanks

I just got some side skirts myself! woohOO! I need to get it painted. But anyways, from my understanding, the newer 97 rear bumper goes down a tad bit more than the older models.

But it looks fine if you do everything except for the newer rear bumper.

I found this in the Photo area...

I think the rear bumper and rear quarter panel extension are different and make the car balance out very nicely if you have the sides.

Yep...is there any confirmation on whether it's a separate add on or a completely new rear bumper? I'll check on this myself tomorrow...

Here's a picture of the 97+ conversion on a 94 without the rear upgrade. Looks very nice still!

The rear bumper is different. There is an addition "skirt" on the bottom of the bumper that matches the add-on side skirts that go on the rear bumper. Also, the cutout for the tail lights is a little different. I have this CONFIRMED because we just did a '97+ tail light swap on a '95 today.

The "inner" portion of the tail light cutouts (closest to the center of the bumper) is angled slightly differently. Also just below the tail light, the it's not exactly perfect either.

It's not a big deal and unless you really know SC's or you know to look for it, you won't be able to tell on the tail light gaps...but the rear lower additional skirt is obvious...if you want to do a "full" '97+ upgrade, then you need to do the rear bumper too...

Hey Manaray, thanks for the confirmation!

So with the taillight conversion, you also need the wiring harness right to work with the newer bulbs?

I switched my 92-94 taillights with Hermosa for his 95-96 taillights and we had to swap the wiring harness because the bulbs used are different.

Do you know what the cost is on the conversion also? I thought I had it right before, but since my swap, I think it'll cost more because of the harness.

Don't forget the little quarter panel extensions that line up with the newer rear bumper....
