Secondly, find the airbag fuse!!! Take it out!!!

Thirdly, step on the brake once then release and wait at least 10 MINUTES...

Next, ground yourself, by touching something metal in your car...

Next put on a pair of latex gloves...

Now follow CleanSC instuctions!!! Clean, is that car still TIGHT?!

I hope this helps.

Excellent advice.
When I changed my airbag last week, I did most of those (except the latex...I like to go natural when possible ) See thread here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...hreadid=120927
Also, the thread has a pic of the wheel with the airbag out. The yellow cable is for the bag and it has a double lock plug. Very distinctive and you can't confuse it with anything else. Also, my .02 is that if you are going to do much work on an SC, or any car for that matter, buy the tech manuals. The manuals tell you everytning you need to know about removing and installing a steering wheel. As for mods, well, that's up to you to figure out. But then, that's the fun part anyway.

Something is not right here. The steering column shouldnt move when you turn the wheel. I would check and make sure you didnt overtorque anything. I would take it apart and check to make sure you dont have a loose connector thats caught on the hub or anything like that.

ok, i figured out the problem after spending the morning figuring it out with my shop. The supra tt momo hub 7728 is not a direct bolt in affair. the ring that houses the turn signal return mates with the bottom part of the hub. thus causing it to rub and create tension, causing all of my problems. what we did was we glued an o-ring to the hub, then we tightened everything down. this leaves about 1.5 mm from the hub to the steering colum. ;] so for the next person who is trying to do this, hope this will save you a lot of trouble. and mr john, thanks for the help on how to remove the wheel. next stop...momo seat install.

Default It's got to be the horn wire

I had this problem before because the horn wire was wrappng around the steering column too tight and was causing the wheel to turn. I think that is it.

I resolved it by relocating the horn on my car to a button on the steering colum. James bod-like

it wasn't the horn for me. it was the hub rubbing against the colum.

I removed the bolt in the middle after remove the airbag. How the hell do you remove the wheel itself? I tried just yanking it off with force, but it wouldn't budge. Do I really need to buy a steering wheel remover?

quick question...since you're using an aftermarket steering wheel...does the tilt still tilt automatically?

Tilt function has nothing to do the wheel itself.
