Default newport conversions

There's a place in california called newport auto conversions that does it.

12K is for the basic conversion but it's not automatic. A real custom job a roof that retracts automatically will run you more like 20K.

Ya know, I just ripped that page out to keep since I was tossing the rest of the magazine, so all I have is that one page. And unfortunately, there's no issue date indicated in the corners, so I can't be certain. My best guess is late 1990's

Default FYI

IN response to the questions...

Newport Auto Conversions specializes in doing convertibles. I know places like west coast customs and 310motoring...even Chip Foose..could probably do it..but they WILL NOT come cheap and IF you can even book time to work w/them.

Newport is where Emerald went to and she got a quote.
They can do a "conversion" for 12k..but you have to pull it up and down yourself...and it's not very elegantly done. It's like one of those ragtop mustangs.
For about 20K plus..u can get a really nicely done one w/the roof storing and coming up and down automatically like in mercedes cars and has more quality crafsmanship. You get what you pay for.
