supra front control arms and stuff
I'm going to just go for it. I didn't get the feedback I wanted, but there have been some people who have been helpful in letting me know what fits and what some options are.
My car passed the 100k mile mark and the front suspension developed that squeaking noise. In addition, after I put on the Supra TT wheels, it suddenly began to get worse and developed the tramlining effect (steering following grooves in the road, easily moving itself when hitting bumps or rough pavement, etc).
After searching forever, and asking a ton, I came to this decision. This is what I'm going to do:
- install new Toyota Supra TT 93.5 - 95 front upper & lower control arms ($800).
- install new Vlamos steering rack bushings (~$60)
- install new Tein HA coilover suspension ($950)
- install new front Supra TT brakes
Factor in the cost of labor, alignment, and corner weighting, and the total cost is well over $2000. Yikes. The cost of Lexus ownership.
In any case, the Toyota control arms for the fronts are the same for NA and TT models. From what has been posted here on CL, they are identical to the Lexus SC and are a perfect fit. The rear Supra control arms do not fit on the Lexus SC, so I'm going to install them later (when I can afford Lexus ones).
I'll post here later when it's all done. Probably won't be for a while, since I have to send out a certified cashiers check to Australia, wait for delivery on all the other stuff, and wait for my appointment at the local alignment shop.
I purchased this car intending to use it as a daily driver.. I think I'm going to buy a Corolla or something
