Default Early SC prototype?

Has anyone seen this pic before? (excuse if it's a repost) I never knew that the exterior for the SC was designed by Toyota Calty Design Research, based in Newport Beach, California. Overall it looks like the original shape was retained.

Wow, good find. A little far fetched compared with what they ended up with, but looking at the hood, and the lines surrounding the headlights to the back of the hood, that has to be SC related. Thank god they changed the rims and front marker lights though.

Looks like even early prototypes had mile-wide wheel gaps

I dont when it was taken but I got the pic from this site Toyota Imports Forum

I like the cornering lights too, it looks like they just shortened em up a bit. Seems like the headlight design didn't change much either.

The roof line kind of reminds me of the Buick Regatta, one of the homeliest cars ever built!

Does anybody have a pic of the concept car (circa '99) that influenced the SC430? I think it was from the Tokyo Motor show...

this pic was scanned from a 99 hyper-rev volume 35. Im assuming it was for a future coupe, but they did not apply yet by looking at the current sc430 design.
